About Bracket Maker

Bracket Maker is a free tournament tool that runs in your browser. Paste the names, pick a format, and you get a bracket, a round robin schedule or a rotating-partner social that you can score from your phone and share with one link. Nobody signs up, and it works on any phone, laptop or TV. It’s made by Lora Studios, a small independent studio.

Why we made it

Most tournaments aren’t run by leagues. They’re run by the person who brought the cornhole boards, the pickleball regular who organizes Tuesday socials, or whoever got volunteered to set up the office ping pong bracket. Those organizers don’t need a control panel. They need the bracket made in a minute, scores entered with one thumb between games, and a link the players can check themselves instead of crowding the scorer’s table.

So the whole tool is three steps: who’s playing, how you want to play, done. Everything else, from byes and seeding to the losers bracket and tiebreakers, is worked out for you, and every setting can still be changed when your group does things differently.

What it does

Scores can be a simple number per side or set by set. Players follow along on a read-only link or a QR code, the bracket can go full screen in TV mode, and it prints on one landscape page.

Sport presets

The 50 sport presets follow the rules most amateur and recreational events use: volleyball sets to 25 with a deciding set to 15, cornhole games to 21, soccer standings with 3 points for a win, half points for a draw in chess. Where groups commonly play differently, we picked the most common casual version and you can change it. If a preset doesn’t match how your sport is usually played, tell us; we’d rather fix it than have you work around it.

Your tournaments stay yours

Until you press Share, a tournament lives only in your browser. When you share it, we store it so the link works, and anyone with the link can see it. The edit link carries a secret key that lets its holder enter scores, so keep that one with the people running the event. Shared tournaments that haven’t changed for 18 months are deleted. The privacy policy has the details.

Who makes it

Bracket Maker is made by Lora Studios, a small independent studio. We also make upheadsgame.com, a free party game, and thisorthatgames.com, a free This or That game for classrooms and teams. All three follow the same idea: open a page and go, with no accounts, no app and no cost.

Bracket Maker isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any sports league, governing body or other tournament software.
